This policy explains how Wild Systems Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, holds and discloses personal information in connection with Pedigree Publisher (the “Software”), this website and our support services. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. What we collect

When you buy a licence: your name, email address, postal or billing address and country, your registration number and your purchase details (product, date, price). Payments are made through PayPal. You enter your payment details directly with PayPal; we do not receive or store your card or bank account numbers.

When you request a demo: your name, email address and country, how you heard about us, the type of animals you breed, and details of your computer and browser.

When you log in to this website: the email address and other details associated with your account.

When the Software is first started on a computer: your registration number, an identifier for the computer, the name and version of its operating system, and the version of the Software. This is used only to manage licences.

When you contact us for support: your name, contact details, the content of your message and any files or screenshots you choose to send us.

When you visit this website or the Software contacts our server: the internet (IP) address the request came from (and the host name it resolves to), your browser type and the pages requested.

2. What we do not collect

The pedigree, animal, owner and other information you enter into the Software is stored on your own computer. The Software does not send it to us, and we do not have access to it unless you choose to send it to us (for example, to help with a support request).

3. Cookies

This website uses a session cookie to keep you logged in and remember your progress through the store, and a cookie that checks your browser accepts cookies. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. See our cookies page for more information.

4. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you (when you buy, request a demo, log in or contact us), automatically from this website and the Software as described above, and from PayPal (confirmation of your payment and the name, email and address details you gave them).

5. Why we use it

We use personal information to:

  • process your purchase and issue your registration details;
  • manage licences and prevent unauthorised copying;
  • respond to demo requests, provide support and answer your enquiries;
  • tell you about updates, fixes and important information about the Software;
  • send you news about our products, where you have agreed to receive it (you can unsubscribe at any time);
  • keep this website secure and prevent misuse; and
  • meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

If you do not provide the information we ask for, we may not be able to sell you a licence, activate the Software or provide support.

6. Who we disclose it to

We disclose personal information only to:

  • service providers that help us run our business, such as PayPal and our website and email hosting providers;
  • our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers; and
  • government authorities, where required or authorised by law.

These providers may only use your information to provide their services to us.

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers, including PayPal, store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

8. Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to this website and restricted access to our systems.

We keep licence and purchase records for as long as your licence is in use and as required for tax and legal purposes (generally at least 5 years). When we no longer need personal information, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

9. Access and correction

You may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us (see section 12). We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why.

10. Customers in the European Union and United Kingdom

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you:

  • we are the controller of your personal information;
  • we process it on the basis of performing our contract with you (purchase, licensing and support), our legitimate interests (preventing unauthorised copying, securing this website and improving the Software), legal obligations (tax records) and, for marketing, your consent;
  • you also have the right to request erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time; and
  • you may complain to your local data protection authority.

11. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first (see section 12). We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
